How to Install Bruce Beta Firmware on M5Shark (Based on M5StickC Plus2)
I turned my M5Shark into a mini Flipper Zero — themes, dashboard, and full control.
If you're using a M5StickC Plus2 but customized it like me (I call mine M5Shark), here’s how to flash the Bruce Beta Firmware and unlock its full potential.
👉 Buy the official M5Shark here
What You’ll Need
- Your device: M5Shark (aka M5StickC Plus2)
- USB-C cable
- A PC with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
- Access to bruce.computer
Step 1: Go to the Bruce Web Installer
Open your browser and visit:
Scroll down and click Beta Release to access the latest features.
Step 2: Select the Correct Device
Although your device is a M5Shark, on the Bruce flasher page,
you must select: M5StickC Plus2 from the list.
✅ Tip: It might be listed under “M5Stack” – that’s fine. Just choose M5StickC Plus2.
Step 3: Put the M5Shark into Flash Mode
- Hold down the center button on your M5Shark.
- While holding, press the reset (RST) button on the side.
- Release both.
Your device is now in flash mode.
Step 4: Flash the Bruce Firmware
- Click Install on the Bruce site
- Grant USB permissions when prompted
- Wait for the firmware to be installed (under 30 seconds)
Your M5Shark will reboot automatically into the new Bruce interface.
Step 5: Upload a Custom Theme
Bruce lets you switch themes like a Flipper Zero, but first, you need to upload one:
- Open your browser and visit http://bruce.local (same Wi-Fi)
- Click Upload Theme
- Drop your
.jsonor.ziptheme file - Go to Settings > Themes on your device to activate it
Where to Find Themes
- Ready-made themes are available on the official Bruce server:
- 🌐 Visit http://bruce.local and click Theme Store
- You can also check:
- GitHub – Search “Bruce Firmware Themes”
- Discord – Join the official Bruce community
Final Thoughts
Bruce Firmware turns your M5Shark into a flexible, powerful, and stylish little device.
With theme support, browser-based control via bruce.local, and an active community, it’s the perfect Flipper Zero alternative.

looking for answers I discovered https://znayka.com.ua.
I couldn’t find clear technical explanations on most websites. Many sources were missing key details.
On this site I found practical upgrade information, along with images that made everything much easier to understand.
It’s worth visiting this platform if you want reliable information about laptops and hardware upgrades.
